Oklahoma State's season opener Sept. 3 in Stillwater vs. Oregon State might not be played
Oklahoma State's season-opening football game against Oregon State could be in jeopardy.
The Pac-12 Conference is expected to announce that it is implementing conference-only schedules for fall sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to The Athletic.
That would cancel the Cowboys' Sept. 3 game inside Boone Pickens Stadium against the Beavers.
The Pac- 12 wouldn't be the first conference to make the change.
The Big Ten officially announced all fall sports — if played — would play only conference opponents. It also announced any student-athletes who elect to not play due to the coronavirus will still have their scholarships honored and they will remain in good standing with their team.
The Atlantic Coast Conference is also expected to make the change, according to WatchStadium.com. According to the report, the ACC will assist Notre Dame — an independent program — should all Power 5 conferences elect to cancel non-conference play.

An official plan of action will be determined on Monday, July 13.
WEST VIRGINIA: The West Virginia women's basketball program has pushed back the start of its summer workouts by two weeks after six players tested positive for the coronavirus, the school said Thursday. The players who tested positive will enter a 14-day quarantine period along with others who were identified through contact tracing procedures as potentially being exposed.
