Midwest City mandates masks

MIDWEST CITY — A Midwest City ordinance requiring face coverings will continue through Sept. 22, when the city council will consider ending, modifying or extending the measure.

The Midwest City Council approved the emergency public safety ordinance last week that requires people to wear face coverings over their noses and mouths while in public places.

Some exceptions to the ordinance include children younger than 10, eating and drinking, medical examinations or as a matter of personal safety. Private homes and personal automobiles also are excluded.

Anyone with concerns about face coverings not being required in public places may contact the city' s non emergency number at 739-1388.
