Cardinals-Cubs series postponed after positive COVID test
Another St. Louis Cardinal tested positive for COVID- 1 9 and the three-game series against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium was postponed, according to Major League Baseball. The latest blow to a season that looked ready to resume in full for the first time in 12 days.
The Cardinals have not played since July 29 due to positive coronavirus tests, with eight players now testing positive and 14 staffers total.
And the Cardinals will now be the team facing the biggest battle in trying to complete a 60-game season by Sept. 27. They have eight games to make up, one more than the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies, who lost a week's worth of games after an outbreak sidelined 18 Marlins players.
