Kissam joins OGE board

- Staff reports

Luke C. Kissam IV will join OGE Energy's board of directors on Sept. 1, company officials have announced.

The term for Kissam, the former chairman and CEO of Albemarle Corp., expires at the shareholder meeting in May 2021, at which time he is expected to be nominated for approval by the company's shareholders.

Officials said Albemarle is a global specialty chemicals company with leading positions in lithium, bromine and refining catalysts and that Kissam, who still serves on its board, held various leadership positions there before becoming its CEO.

He also serves on boards for DuPont de Nemours and on boards for various other community and charitable associations.

“We are pleased to welcome Luke to the board of directors,” Sean Trauschke, OGE Energy's chairman and CEO, stated as part of the announcement. “He brings a depth of executive and board leadership that, combined with his rich, cross-discipline experience, will lend insight and perspective and serve to further strengthen our board. We look forward to his joining us in September.”

PSO distributes LEDs

Public Service Co. of Oklahoma is teaming up with Oklahoma' s two largest food banks to distribute more than 100,000 energy-efficient LED bulbs to families in need through its Shine A Light campaign, it has announced.

Since 2014, P SO has worked with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to coordinate the distribution of free energy-efficient bulbs as part of the program.

To date, the food banks through their networks of partner agencies have distributed more t han a half- million bulbs in PSO-served areas across the state.

“We know that families in need are often forced to make difficult decisions and food dollars sometimes get cut in order to cover other life expenses, and that has never been more true than now during this time of the coronavirus pandemic,” Jeff Brown, manager of PSO's consumer programs, stated as part of the release.

“Through our Shine A Light project, we can provide our neighbors ways to save energy and lower costs, so they can focus on the health and well-being of their families.”

The utility also offers instant discounts on select LED bulbs at participating retailers, which can be found at powerforwardwithpso.com.
