THE OKLAHOMA N' S 2020 CLASS AP RE SEASON RANKINGS

- Cameron Jourdan, Staff writer

1. Ringling (13-1): The defending state champion will have another stout defense, proving the path to a state title runs through southern Oklahoma.

2. Cashion (13-1): Coach Lynn Shackelford's team is again loaded. It will be strong defensively and has junior quarterback Ben Harman returning to lead the offense. 3. Pawhuska (11-2): Senior quarterback Bryce Drummond might be the state's best signal caller. He could put up some huge numbers this season and take the Huskies even farther.

4. Thomas (9-4): Standout senior defensive lineman Aden Kelley, an Oklahoma State commit, anchors a defense with every starter returning.

5. Pawnee (13-1): Senior running back and linebacker Trevor Mitchell returns and looks to lead Pawnee to another successful season.

6. Okemah (5-6): Okemah's offense is going to be dominant. Ten starters return for the Panthers, which could set the scoring pace in every game.

7. Gore (10-2): Weston Shanks returns at quarterback and his dual-threat abilities should help Gore make a run with an experienced team this season.

8. Hobart (7-3): Hobart will look to control the line of scrimmage and run the ball with its excellent running back duo of Cade Lyons and Garrett Dye.

9. Tonkawa (5-5): The 2018 Class A state champs missed out on the playoffs last season but return a team with experience that's ready again for the spotlight.

10. Minco (10-2): Although the Bulldogs have to replace key skill players, coach Brock Wardlaw said younger players are ready to step up and help Minco stay strong.

11. Apache (4-6): The Warriors dealt with numerous injuries throughout last season, but with nine returning on each side of the ball, Apache could be in for a big year. 12. Wayne (7-5): Coming off a breakout sophomore season, quarterback Ethan Mullins returns looking to take Wayne deep in the playoffs.

13. Texhoma (9-3): Coming off a nine-win season, coach Skylar Watson's team is prepared for an even better 2020 campaign with its defense leading the way. 14. Mangum (11-2): The Tigers will be strong defensively with linebackers Elijah Bernal and Quan Bailey returning, but Bailey will impact every game at running back. 15. Hominy (7-4): The Bucks have made the playoffs 22 consecutive years, and that streak shouldn't come to an end this year with their defense leading the way.

16. Wewoka (8-4): Senior quarterback Kobey Stephens returns looking to lead the Tigers this season. Wewoka could be a team that makes a run come playoff time.
