Them os tin triguin gt ra de talks before Monday' s trade deadline are between the Cleveland Indian sand Chicago White Sox, who are actively involved in discussions on a deal that would send Cleveland starter Mike C levin ger to Chicago, according to

two persons with direct knowledge of the talks. The Indians are looking to bolster a nailing offense. Clevinger, one of Cleveland's top three starters, certainly would bolster the White Sox's thin rotation, joining Lucas G io li to, Dallas Keuchel and Dylan Cease.

TIGERS: Miguel Cabrera's RBI single through the hole on the left side in the first inning against the Minnesota Twins' Kenta Maeda on Sunday was his 2,000th as a Detroit Tiger — he had 842 hits as a Florida Marlin, leaving him 158 hits short of becoming the

33rd player to 3,000 hits — putting him in another, more exclusive club: Eight players have picked up 2,000 hits while playing for the Tigers, with the last one before Cabrera — Lou Whitaker — joining the club nearly 30 years ago. While the Comerica Park scoreboard honored Cabrera for the milestone, the Tigers slugger came out of the dugout for a curtain call ... in front of no fans. A's: The Oakland Athletics announced Sunday that a member of the organization has tested positive for coronavirus and the team's game against the Houston Astros was postponed.

The A's are now the 11th MLB team with a COVID-19related postponement. No team in either West division had a game pushed back due to coronavirus until Sunday.

PADRES: The San Diego Padres added veteran slugger Mitch Moreland. The Padres made a trade with Boston, sending minor leaguers Jeisson Rosario (outfielder) and Hudson Potts (infielder). Moreland is also a former Oklahoma City RedHawks first baseman/outfielder.
