Jewish center to host food distribution
A drive-thru food box distribution event will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Chabad Community Center for Jewish Life and Learning, 3000 W Hefner.
Rabbi Ovadia Goldman, the center's spiritual leader, said the food giveaway is part of Chabad's COVID-19 Community Assistance Relief Efforts (CARES). He said the public is invited to visit the center for a box of fresh produce and other food, while supplies last. He said about 2,300 boxes are expected to be distributed.
Goldman said the distribution is an event befitting the season of Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. The holiday begins at sundown Sept. 18. The center has held two drive-thru mask distribution events as part of its relief efforts.
