Twitter blocks tweet of Trump virus adviser

Scott Atlas, a member o f t h e W h i t e H o u s e c o r o n a v i r u s t a s k f o r c e , was flagged by Twitter for a tweet that violated the social media site's “misleading i n f o r ma t i o n ” p o l i c y , a spokespers­on confirmed to the New York Daily News Sunday.

The original t weet has s i n c e b e e n d e l e t e d b y a d mi n i s t r a t o r s b e c a u s e i t “vi ol a t e d t he Twitter rules.”

As coronaviru­s numbers spike again and the election q u i c k l y a p p r o a c h e s , b o t h F a c e b o o k a n d T w i t t e r h a v e c r a c k e d d o w n o n t h e s p r e a d o f m i s i n f o r m a t i o n , f l a g g i n g s e v e r a l p o s t f rom the president, who h a s c o n t i n u e d t o h o l d massive rallies with little mask u s a g e , e v e n a f t e r he was hospitaliz­ed with COVID-19.

T h e C O V I D - 1 9 mis l e a d i n g i n f o r mati o n policy bans any “false or mi s l e a d i n g c o n t e n t . . . which could lead to harm,” i n c l u d i n g b y “s u b j e c t - mat t e r e x p e r t s s u c h a s public health authoritie­s,” according to Twitter.
