Jacob Roman "Jake" Duren

-

Aug. 26, 1994 - Oct. 17, 2020

Jacob Roman "Jake" Duren passed from this earth to Heaven on 17 October 2020 due to a seizure from low blood sugar. Jake was born in Midwest City on 26 August 1994 to Richard Scott Duren and Leslie Blackburn Duren. He grew up in Del City with siblings Logan Scott Duren (deceased), Rachel Jordan Duren, Bowen Malachi Duren, and Sydney Ryan Kellogg. Jake was a loving, warm and caring young man who battled personal demons in early adulthood. In October 2018, he entered the Living Life Ministries for help. The Christian leadership in the Ministry allowed Jake to grow and learn that his life had much more meaning than how he had been living. When the Ministry had to close, Pastor Tammy and Pastor Jeremy asked him to live with them in Edmond, where he was accepted as another son. Jake loved children and his new siblings, Malachi, Gracie, and Emmanual; all loved him back.

He dedicated his life to God in early 2019 and began serving immediately. He loved his family, his adopted family, church family and, of course, his dogs. Jake shared his faith with everyone he met. He was especially sympathetic to the homeless as he himself had seen how difficult it was to live on the street.

Jake was employed at EZ Mart for the past year, where he was appreciated and loved for his diligence to work hard and his welcoming smile. He enjoyed working there and believed he had found a career.

Jake leaves behind his grieving siblings; his mother and father; his grandparents, Quentin and Debby Duren, of Choctaw; and Stanley and Madeline Clements, of Del City; his adopted parents, Tammy and Jeremy Wood, of the home in Edmond; his many uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many, many friends, too numerous to mention. He loved you all.

Services are set for Sunday, 25 October 2020 at 11 a.m. at Oasis Church in Edmond. Address is 16000 N. Western, Edmond, OK 73013.
