Bears, Chiefs latest teams closing facilities due to COVID-19 tests

-

The Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs became the latest NFL teams to shutter their facilities Thursday due to a positive coronavirus test.

In a statement, the Bears said they were notified of a player testing positive Thursday morning and paused all in-person activities at Halas Hall, canceling practice.

The Chiefs revealed a staff member tested positive, announcing the team will still practice Thursday but will conduct meetings virtually later in the day. FALCONS: Receiver Calvin Ridley missed practice for the second straight day because of a foot injury. He was hurt early in the second quarter of Atlanta's 25-17 victory at Carolina last Thursday and hasn't practiced since.

PANTHERS: Coach Matt Rhule said barring a setback he expects Christian McCaffrey to play Sunday against the Chiefs. The 2019 All-Pro running back who has missed the past six games with a high ankle sprain, practiced for the second straight day Thursday.

RAIDERS: Las Vegas placed right tackle Trent Brown back on the COVID-19 list for a second time this season. The Raiders made the move Thursday because Brown still has complications from the illness after a positive test last month.

TEXANS: Houston will be without three linebackers on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars after linebacker Jacob Martin tested positive for COVID19. Martin was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. Interim coach Romeo Crennel said that starting linebacker Whitney Mercilus and reserve linebacker Dylan Cole would also miss Sunday's game after contact tracing found that they had been in close contact with Martin.
