MIDWEST CITY

Ora Faye Grisham passed away 2 November 2020. She would have seen her 90th birthday in just a few weeks. Ora “Toots” and her twin brother, Oran “Buck,” were born to Alpha Olan Mitchell and Myrtle May Crews 29 November 1930, in Lexington, OK. She married William Leo Grisham on 26 December 1951, in Norman, OK. Leo and Toots have two sons, Gregory Alan (Florence Ruth), of West Lafayette, IN; and Gerald Lynn (Debra), of Oklahoma City. Toots had a very good life and enjoyed her family. She was always full of stories about growing up in southern Oklahoma with her brothers and mother and the mischief that happened. She blamed most of it on her brothers, but you were never quite sure if it was all on them. She liked playing little pranks on others, especially grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, canning, and just being out doing things. She cared for her mother the few years before Myrtle passed. In the years since Leo’s death, dementia had slowly robbed us of Toots’ spunky personality. Although, until recently, it would still surface, occasionally. Her personality and spirit has been missed for a while, but she is finally relieved of these mortal cares. Ora has nine grandchildren, Zachary Alan Grisham (Bryn), Oak Park, IL; Miranda Ruth Matthews (Aaron), of West Des Moines, IA; Gillian Anna Jackson (Dan), of West Des Moines, IA; Jacob Mitchell Grisham, of West Lafayette, IN; Serena Jane Humes (Tucker), of Round Rock, TX; Audrey May Grisham (fiance Blake), of West Lafayette, IN; Nathaniel Eli Grisham (Jayde), of Fort Wayne, IN; Samuel Paine Grisham (Ilana), of Austin, TX; and William Gregory Grisham (Hannah), of West Lafayette, IN. She currently has 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo (1931-2000); parents, Alpha (1901-1937), and Myrtle (1902-1980); sister, Melba Lena (19241937); her brothers, Melvin Eugene “Gene” (1926-2011), Milford Zackie “Zach” (19272018), and Oran Ray “Buck” (her twin, 1930-2012). In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home.
