The Oklahoman high school staff breaks down the football playoffs by class

The Oklahoma n' s high school beat writers, Cameron Jourdan, Nick S ardis and James D. Jackson, make their high school football state title picks for Classes 6A-I to 2A.

Class 6A-I

Cameron Jourdan: Owasso. With a strong defense and balanced offense, the Rams will win consecutive titles and their third in four years.

Nick Sardis: Owasso. The defending champion has rolled this year, winning each game by at least 11 points.

James D. Jackson: Owasso. The Rams don't post many weaknesses, if any. There isn't a team that can beat them if they aren't making mistakes.

Class 6A-II

Jourdan: Bixby. Junior Braylin Presley has emerged as one of the state's best players and he will propel the Spartans to title No. 6.

Sardis: Bixby. The Spartans have won two consecutive state titles and haven't lost a game since 2018.

Jackson: Bixby. With some of the best athletes in the state, there doesn't seem to be a team that can stop Bixby's reign.

Class 5A

Jourdan: Carl Albert. The Titans have found their form in the second half of the season and are poised to win their fifth straight title.

Sardis: Carl Albert. The Titans are 7-1 and have shown they have what it takes to win their fifth consecutive state championship.

Jackson: Carl Albert. The Titans have proven they are a mismatch for Class 5A teams. They'll achieve the `drive for five'.

Class 4A

Jourdan: Wagoner. The Bulldogs know how to win, and their defense will be a test for every playoff opponent.

Sardis: Wagoner. The Bulldogs posted five shutouts in the regular season and haven't allowed more than 14 points in a game.

Jackson: Wagoner. With one of the stingiest defenses leading to an undefeated season, the Bulldogs have shown they are the best in Class 4A.

Class 3A

Jourdan: Tulsa Holland Hall. With standout defensive lineman Owen Ostroski leading the way, the Dutch will come away victorious.

Sardis: Tulsa Holland Hall. Its defense has been outstanding, allowing just 27 points over eight games.

Jackson: Heritage Hall. The Chargers are a resilient team. That will work wonders for them on the way to the championship.

Class 2A

Jourdan: Vian. The Wolverines have numerous athletes that can make plays and a championship-caliber defense. They'll make up for last season's shortcoming.

Sardis: Vian. The Wolverines, who lost in the state title game last year, have arguably the best defense in Class 2A. Jackson: Vian. The Wolverines look more than ready to take the next step and finish the job after falling short last season.
