Federal agents on Monday arrested a longtime criminal accused of a Midwest City homicide earlier this month.

Around 8 a.m., the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Leo Deangelo Milligan, 30, of Shawnee, in connection with the Nov. 5 shooting death of Jerome Lewis Piggie, 36.

Acting on a tip, agents located Milligan in Shawnee and took him into custody. Authorities said Milligan was armed with a handgun at the time of his arrest.

"We want to thank everyone involved who has assisted our agency in trying to locate Milligan, especially the United States Marshals office,” Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said. “The continued threat to society is over with the arrest of this violent felon."

Around 3 a.m. on Nov. 5, police responded to a shooting at 1205 Sandra Drive, Milligan where

they found Piggie in the front yard dead from a gun shot wound.

Investigators said they interviewed P iggie' s wife at the scene and she stated she did not know who shot her husband. Authorities said she later indicated Milligan, her brother, had done it.

The woman told investigators she and P iggie had bee nina domestic dispute and her brother arrived to confront Piggie. In the confrontation, Mil li gan shot P iggie outside their residence, she told authorities.

Milligan faces a firstdegree murder complaint.

Court records show Milligan's lengthy criminal history includes domestic abuse, drug arrests and eluding a police officer.
