Lee Ann Reid

Lee Ann Reid, age 60, went to be with her faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 10, 2021 after a hard but cheerful 18-month battle with brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme).

She was born on May 14, 1960, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of David Hunt and the late Marilyn Hunt. She died peacefully in her home in Oklahoma City with her family beside her.

She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Reid, on November 14, 1981. They met when Lee Ann was 15 years old and would have celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this year. They were truly best friends, and Dale often said that she fit him like a glove.

Growing up, she attended First Christian Church with her family. In her later years, she attended Skyline Church (since its inception in 2007).

A 1978 graduate of Putnam City Original High School, she went on to earn a BBA in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1982.

She wore many hats: CPA, “CFO” of LADD Equipment, PTA treasurer, little league baseball scorekeeper, restaurateur, and more. In the home, she was the thread that held everything together.

As a “boy mom”, she embraced her role as a mother-in-law, welcoming her boys’ wives as her own daughters. She also delighted in being a grandma. Selfdesignated as GrammaLee, she became known as “GrammaYee”, “MaLee”, and “Molly” by her grandchildren.

She was greatly loved and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. “Sweet Lee Ann” was a servant, a peacemaker, an encourager, and a thoughtful gift-giver. She was undauntedly optimistic. She saw the best in people and in every circumstance, even her sickness.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Reid; three sons and their wives, Lance and Kayla, Austin and Kori, and Derek and Katia; five grandchildren, Everett, Charleston, Palmer, Collins, and Cara Lee; her father, David Hunt, and his wife, Marian; and two brothers and their wives, David and Vicki Hunt and Jim and Helen Hunt.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, January 13, at Skyline Church in Oklahoma City, OK (1901 N. Douglas Avenue).
