Lon Doolin, 83, a Christian, has joined his heavenly family. He was born in Decatur, IL to John Edward and Mildred Faye ( W a l k e r ) Doolin. Lon m a r r i e d N o v a Heffington in Sept. 1955 (65 years!). Lon is reunited with his daughter, Dana (Griffin). He leaves behind his son, David and his wife Dena (Cox); grandchild­ren: Dallas and Dax Doolin, Joshua (Cristen), Daniel (Mallory), Adam (Ashley) and Andrew Griffin; and 3 great-grandchild­ren: Porter, Nova Grace and Merrick Griffin. Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm Friday January 15, 2021 at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church 5700 NW 63rd in Warr Acres. Family visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm at the church. John was born to Ted and Olivia Skala. An only child and life long resident of Oklahoma. He graduated Putnam City High School, Class of 1956. He served in the United States Marine Corps and in the Oklahoma National Guard. John married Betty Bessinger, mother of four children, in 1965. Betty preceded him in death in 1983. John married Geneva Baird in 1985. They enjoyed life attending OU games and weekends at Buncombe Creek, Lake Texoma. Daughter, Connie Bier, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Geneva, sons Marvin and Steve Griggs, daughter Becca Shriver, Debra Baird, many grandchild­ren.
