Kyle Mark Swisher, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 with his beloved wife, Michele, and their three children, Hunt, Erin, and Ryan, by his side on January 11, 2021. Kyle was born on May 24, 1958 in Oklahoma City to Bill and Wanda Swisher, the third of seven siblings. He attended Missouri Military Academy, Fountain Valley, Casady, John Marshall and the University of Oklahoma where he gained many friends along the way.

As a youth, he was known for his mischievous shenanigans, as his family and friends will attest. He often said he would get himself into trouble just to see if he could find his way out of it. With a twinkle in his eye and sly smile, he always did.

Kyle was a natural born salesman and storyteller. He spent the majority of his career at CMI Corp. He eventually started his own successful business in heavy equipment sales. Many of his customers became lifelong friends largely due to his easy going nature, quick wit and sense of humor. He never met a stranger.

Kyle loved the Oklahoma Sooners and wagering with friends over sports. He never turned down a trip to Vegas or a cold Coors Light; loved picking football; loved grilling and cooking and loved his family and his dog, Maui, but not necessarily in that order (we think!).

He and Michele were married for over 25 years and share many memories of nights out, vacations (always the 4th of July), or staying in to watch their favorite shows together. In 1996 they had their first child, Hunt, and immediately knew they wanted more. Erin arrived shortly after in 1997 and Ryan in 2000. Kyle was a very proud father to his children and loved sharing in their accomplishments. From coaching on the sidelines or cheering in the stands, to sharing his endless “dad” jokes, his unconditional love will be deeply missed.

Kyle’s strength, determination, and passion for life enabled him to be with us for a much longer time than any of us had hoped. His humor and wit never diminished and he never stopped smiling. He was a true role model of grace and courage for all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Wanda Swisher and brothers, Bill Swisher, III and Chris Swisher. Kyle is survived by his wife, Michele and their three children, Hunt, Erin, and Ryan; siblings, Thane Swisher (Jill), Ann Swisher, Kelly Swisher McLain, and Scott Swisher (Jennifer); sisters-in-law Shelley Swisher; Marla Sullivant (Tim), Melanie Masterson, and brother-in-law Michael Masterson (Donna DiBernado); his nieces and nephews, Lauren Swisher, Kathryn Swisher Kahn (Jason), Elizabeth Swisher, G.W. Swisher, Natalie Swisher Bunds (Kyle), Alex Swisher (Eliza), Megan Swisher Rayle (Albert), Jennifer McLain, William McLain, Mark McLain, Taylor McLain, Kristina Sullivant Peterson (Drew), Sierra Sullivant Massey (Kyle), and Sheridan Sullivant; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be 12-8pm Friday, January 15, 2021, at HahnCook/Street & Draper Funeral Home. A private family service will be held January 16, 2021 at 2pm. Guests are invited to join via livestream at https://tinyurl.com/hcfhlive. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Stand Up to Cancer at: https://standuptocancer.org. Kyle loved this organization and we chose it as a lasting legacy. 100% of all donations go to research for all cancers.
