Wan ya Morris was supposed to play against OU in 2020.

Now, it looks like he'll be playing for the Sooners in 2021.

The Tennessee offensive tackle announced his commitment to OU on Monday, choosing the Sooners over Texas A&M and USC.

The So one rs were scheduled to play the Volunteers in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic altered the non-conference schedule.

Morris (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) started 19 games for the Volunteers over the past two seasons with two of his starts this season coming as a blocking tight end. His other 17 starts came at left tackle.

He started 12 of 13 games as a freshman in 2019, earning SEC AllFreshman honors and a spot on 247 sports' Freshman All- America team.

Morris was a Rivals. com four-star prospect in 2019 and ranked as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the class as No. 41 overall player.

Morris could find his way onto the field quickly for the Sooners, who have a tackle spot to fill with Adrian Ealy having declared for the NFL Draft. Ealy played on the right side for the Sooners. Left tackle Erik Swenson was a senior but could return due to the NCAA's rules allowing players who played in 2020 an extra year of eligibility.

The Sooners will also have to replace center Creed Humphrey. Andrew Raym, a 2020 signee, is the most likely candidate to replace Humphrey in the lineup.
