Records broken during 2021 winter storm
Oklahoma broke a daily record Monday for lowest recorded temperature ever on the date of Feb. 15.
The previous daily record of minus 15 degrees was set in 1905 in Vinita. During the early morning hours Monday, Oklahoma Mesonet recorded minus 22 degrees in Kent on, located in the far western Oklahoma Panhandle.
That's the coldest temperature on record since 2018. Oklahoma's all-time record low was minus 31 degrees, set in Nowata on Feb. 10, 2011.
The state's longest stretch of temperatures at or below freezing is 333 hours, or 13 days. That record likely won't be beaten by t he current storm system. According to the National Weather Service, the current streak began Feb. 8 and is expected to last until Feb. 19, which is only 11 days.
The state i s also setting wind chill records.
Oklahoma City tied the record low wind chill value of minus 29 degrees Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The previous record was set in 1947.
Fort Sill broke its lowest wind chill record at minus 26 degrees. The previous wind chill record of minus 22 also occurred in 1947.
This winter storm hasn't yet beaten the statewide wind chill record of minus 47 degrees set during the 2011 freeze, based on data from Oklahoma Mesonet. The lowest wind chill reported Monday was minus 36 in Boise City.
Oklahoma's overall snow depth record of 36 inches, set in 1971, remains intact.
The deepest s now e ver recorded in Oklahoma City was 14.1 inches on Christmas Day 2009. Measurements reported to the National Weather Service on Sunday and Monday reached 8 inches in the metro area.
Perry recorded 9 inches of snow Sunday.

•Feb .13: Coldest high temperature of 18 degrees (previous record: 21 degrees in 1905)
• Feb. 1 4: Coldest high temperature of 12 degrees (previous record: 20 degrees in 1951); and tied for the most snowfall at 6 inches, equaling the record set in 1917.
