Sooners rally to edge Auburn in 10 innings

Tyler Hardman delivered a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Oklahoma to a 4-3 win over Auburn in the first game of Round Rock Classic Friday afternoon.

With the bases loaded, Hardman's looping single over Auburn' s second baseman scored Tanner T read away from third and handed the Tigers (5-1) their first loss of the season. Hardman's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth scored Peyton Graham and tied the score at 3-3. Out railed 3-1 entering the eighth inning but scored a run on an RBI single by Diego Muniz.

Auburn led the Sooners 3-0 after three innings and chased O Us tarter Wyatt Olds in the fourth inning. Reliever Jar et Godman was called in and escaped a bases loaded jam by inducing a double playground er to keep the Tigers from sc oring. Godman pitched six scoreless innings of relief, allowing just four hits.

Jason Ruffcorn set down the side for Auburn in the 10 th inning to get the pitching win for OU. The Sooners (3-2) face Texas A&M at 6 p.m. Saturday at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. On Sunday, OU meets Baylor at 5 p.m. downed New Mexico Friday afternoon in the Sooners' first of a five-game set in the Phoenix area this weekend. Three OU pitchers - Giselle Juarez, Shannon Saile and Olivia Rains - combined to toss a nohitter. Jayda Coleman and Jana Johns each homers for the Sooners

OSU 1, LSU 0: Kelly Maxwell pitched a shutout for the Cowgirls, allowing just two hits, as OSU won its 22nd consecutiv­e softball game Friday dating back to last season to tie a school record. Naomi Kiley's RBI single drove in Sydney Pennington with the only run of the game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
