The Oklahoman

Jesse Mark Stodghill

OKLAHOMA CITY - Jesse Mark Stodghill passed away in Oklahoma City on March 6, 2021. He was 43 years old, born in Oklahoma City, on September 22, 1977, to Barbara Chance Campbell and James Mark Stodghill. He had an artist’s heart, a scientist’s brain and a pirate’s attitude. His soul was always looking toward the underdog and the thought that they were just as important as anyone or anything. Jesse attended public schools in Tulsa and Midwest City, Oklahoma and Owings Mills, Maryland along with college at Northeastern University and Oklahoma City Community College. Most of his working career, he was an accomplished Chef in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas. Always restless and curious, while always wanting justice and peace, Jesse usually had a rebellious musical background playing. A handsome man who looked great in a Tux-but better in jeans and a hoodie or a backwards ballcap. Jesse’s last few years found him falling in love and getting married to his devoted wife Kristen and fathering his youngest son Alex-a tighter and more fun family you could not find. The last several years of Jesse’s life found him cultivating his artistic spirit through many mediums-most especially photography, drawing, painting and graphic design. His style was modern, decadent, rebellious and quite often spellbindingly beautiful.

He is survived by: wife, Kristen Stodghill; sons, Alexander Stodghill and Seth Maytubbie-Stodghill; step-daughter, Vega Elaine Gamble; granddaughter, Leonie Bue Maytubbie; father, James Mark Stodghill; mother, Barbara Chance-Campbell; sisters, Jazmine Goins-Stodghill and Julia Elaine Mills; and aunts, uncles, nieces, step-mother and step-brothers.
