ATHLETES TO WATCH

The small-school state track meets are set for this week. Here is the schedule and some athletes to watch.

Class 4A

At Catoosa, Saturday Jackson Salsman-Whitfield, Sr.,

Mount St. Mary: The Central Arkansas signee won two regional titles last week in Madill, finishing the 800-meter race in 1 minute, 58.77 seconds and the 1,600 in 4:39.44.

Kaylen King, Sr., Bethany: An Oklahoma Baptist signee, King captured titles in the 400 (58.52) and 800 (2:17.08) at the Plainview regional. She also placed second in the 1,600 (5:27.20).

Class 3A

At Catoosa, Friday

Jeremiah Major, Sr., Millwood: A standout lineman in football, Major’s strength and power show in the field events. He won the shot put (5208.00) and discus (131-04.50) at the Plainview regional.

Lucy Webb, Fr., Oklahoma Christian School: She captured championsh­ips in the 800 (2:28.71) and 1,600 (5:52.03) at the Chisholm regional.

Class 2A

At Ardmore, Saturday Collin Garrett, Sr., Luther:

He helped Luther claim the regional title in Atoka. Garrett won the 110 hurdles (16.55), 300 hurdles (42.33) and pole vault (9 feet).

Kaylie Washko, Jr., Oklahoma Christian Academy: She won the 3,200 in 12:14.51 at the Alex regional, finishing nearly one minute ahead of her nearest competitor.

Class A

At Cherokee, Saturday

Tucker Croy, Jr., Southwest Covenant:

He won the long jump with a leap of 19-07.00 at Okemah’s regional. Croy also placed third in the 200 (23.70) and fourth in the 100 (11.70).

Breanna Cothran, Sr., Davenport: She captured a regional championsh­ip in Okemah in the 200 (27.87) and placed second in the 400 (1:01.91).
