Vaccinated Reich tests positive for COVID
Just one day before the start of training camp, the Indianapolis Colts announced head coach Frank Reich has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Reich must quarantine until being cleared. In a statement released by the team Monday, Reich said that he is both vaccinated and asymptomatic. According to NFL protocol, any vaccinated and asymptomatic individual who tests positive must quarantine. Once they receive two negative tests at least 24 hours apart from each other, they can return to duty. From there, they will be tested every two weeks.
VIKINGS: The Minnesota Vikings signed former Jacksonville and Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook, adding some needed depth at the position and another option for a punt returner. Westbrook was a fourth-round draft pick by the Jaguars in 2017, caught only one pass and played in just two games last year. He was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career, before a knee injury knocked him out of action for the second half of the schedule.
ETC.: Former NFL player and coach Eugene Chung is still waiting to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell regarding an anti-Asian comment he says a team made about him during a job interview this year.
Chung said on a conference call Monday the league never told him why a requested meeting with Goodell was not arranged nor how the NFL's investigation was conducted.
Chung, who spent time with five teams as a player and coached with the Eagles and Chiefs, has not identified the coach who he says told him that Asian Americans were “not the right minority” in the NFL.
