HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for April 4-10.

The deadline is noon Friday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Here are the nominees for April 4-10:

Baseball

Preston Cotter, Jr., Cashion: In the Lokeba-Sickles Tournament last week, Preston recorded a .667 batting average and an on-base percentage of .777. He tallied four runs with three RBI, and three stolen bases.

Brigham Evans, Sr., Heritage Hall:

Evans hit 10-for-18 with one home run, 10 RBI and three stolen bases last week. He also tallied 10 strikeouts in 51⁄

innings pitched. He recorded two wins in relief.

Boys golf

Grant Gudgel, So., Stillwater: With a stellar 66, winning by three shots, Gudgel captured the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference tournament at The Greens.

Parker Payne, So., Noble: Parker placed fourth overall at Carl Albert's tournament while earning first-place honors in the Suburban Conference tournament the same day.

Girls golf

Olivia Coit, Sr., Edmond Memorial: She won the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference tournament Wednesday while tying for first place overall. She also helped Edmond Memorial win the COAC conference title.

Makaylee Cowan, Jr., Yukon: She took second in the COAC conference tournament at Lincoln Park West while finishing third place overall in the state preview.

Boys soccer

Tucker Austin, Fr., Heritage Hall: In two district victories against Cordell and Mount St. Mary, Austin was outstandin­g, tallying four goals and three assists.

Jamie Balderrama, Sr., Crooked Oak: In

two big district victories, the captain tallied three goals and one assist to increase his totals to 10 goals and five assists on the year.

Jimmy Cabrera, Jr., Santa Fe South:

The midfielder is a big reason why Santa Fe South picked up two shutout victories last week. He scored two goals and two assists.

Slowpitch softball

Eden Anderson, So., Mustang: Anderson totaled nine home runs, 25 RBI and seven intentiona­l walks in Mustang's 5-2 week. She recorded a .714 batting average and a 2.143 slugging percentage.

Lily West, Sr., Choctaw: West has helped the Yellowjack­ets to an undefeated week behind her outstandin­g play at the plate. West has tallied 17 hits and 15 RBI in 24 at-bats. Choctaw is on an eight-game win streak.

Girls soccer

Lauren Bradley, Sr., Crossings Christian: The midfielder had a big week helping the Knights pick up two district wins. She scored three goals and added two assists.

Addy Johnson, So., Edmond Memorial: The forward tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win at Norman on Friday and also helped the Bulldogs to a 10-goal win Tuesday.

Preston Wackerly, Sr., Mustang: She tallied five goals from her forward position to help the Broncos pick up pivotal district wins against U.S. Grant and Edmond Santa Fe.

Boys tennis

Randon Kanchanako­mtorn, Sr., Westmoore: He claimed the No. 1 singles title at Yukon's tournament last week. Jackson Wolf, Sr., Yukon: Wolf and his partner placed fourth in No. 1 doubles at Yukon's tournament last week. Wolf, who has been offered college scholarshi­ps in both golf and tennis, is having a great season on the court. He's 17-8 with three partners.

Girls tennis

Emma Poupard, So., Guthrie: She won the No. 1 singles championsh­ip at the Suburban Conference Tournament last week.

Mabyn Shuffield, Sr., Carl Albert: Shuffield and her partner claimed the No. 2 doubles title and helped the Titans win the team crown at the Suburban Conference Tournament.

Boys track

Devin Alexander, So., Norman: He had a stellar performanc­e Saturday at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference meet, winning the 100-meter dash in 10.44 seconds.

AJ Antonelli, Sr., Deer Creek: He won the 800 (1 minute, 54.55 seconds) and 1,600 (4:24.97) at the COAC meet. Zavier Wilson, Sr., Midwest City: He won the 100 (10.92), placed second in the 200 (23.03) and helped Midwest City claim victories in the 4x100 (44.53) and 4x200 (1:33.05) at Carl Albert's invitation­al Friday.

Girls track

Renee Christian, Jr., Westmoore: She won the 100 (12.05) and 200 (25.05) and was part of Westmoore's 4x100 relay team that placed first with a time of 48.52 at the COAC meet.

Kayvon Nubine, So., Edmond Memorial: She had two victories (100 hurdles and 4x200 relay) and two second-place finishes (200 and 4x100) as she helped Edmond Memorial claim the team title at the COAC meet.

Ally Stephenson, Sr., Kingfisher: She showcased her versatilit­y at Kingfisher's invitation­al Friday and won three individual events (200, long jump and high jump). Kingfisher edged a stellar Tuttle team in the team standings.
