Reverend Leon Wilson

OKLAHOMA CITY - Reverend Leon Wilson, 87, peacefully passed away surrounded by family & was welcomed at Heaven’s Gate by his Heavenly father & a host of family on Monday, April 18, 2022. Leon was born in Oklahoma City on July 17, 1934 to Orville Leon & Mary Gladys (Layton) Wilson. A lifetime servant of God he surrendered to the ministry in 1952, never retiring he remained active in spreading the Gospel until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; precious granddaughter Candice Shaw & brother Leroy Wilson. He is survived by his loving & devoted wife Sharolyn of 68 years; son Edwin Wilson & wife Nancy; daughters Sharol Cottingham & husband David; Anita Pease & husband Damon; 4 grandchildren Valerie Wilson, Brett Shaw & wife Dahrenda, Aimee Walther & husband Kyle, & ShaLyn Cottingham; brother Larry Wilson & wife Sharon & sister Janice Haswell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM, the family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 PM at Vondel L. Smith & Sons Mortuary at South Lakes 4000 S.W. 119th OKC, OK 73173. Services to celebrate his life & home going will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 22, 2022 at First Moore Baptist Church 301 NE 27th St, Moore, OK 73160.
