OKLAHOMA CITY - Mary Adeline (Maguire) Holaday was born on October 1, 1926 in Chattanoog­a, Oklahoma to Edward “Edd” Maguire and Olga Mae (Kimble) Maguire. When Adeline was just one year old, the Maguire family moved to Verden, Oklahoma and lived there for sixteen years before moving to Oklahoma City. Adeline graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1944 and then attended Hills Business College, with additional special business classes at Oklahoma City University. Adeline was a member of the Alpha Pi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi Sorority. She married T.W. “Bill” Holaday on June 29, 1947. They had one child, Holly Diane (Holaday) Davis who was born on March 24, 1956. Adeline worked eleven years at American Optical Company as Secretary to the Zone Manager until their family began in 1956. She then worked twenty-eight years at World Neighbors Inc in several positions until retiring in 1989. She served as senior associate, administra­tive assistant and treasurer of the board. Adeline was interested in music and choir. She sang in several different choirs, including the Canterbury Voices of Oklahoma City. Adeline was also a member of All Souls’ Episcopal Church. Adeline was a past president and secretary of the treasury for the former Village Lioness Club. She was a member and past president of the Tri City Republican Club. Adeline was also vice president and president of the Ohoyahoma Club (wives of the state legislator­s). This statewide club first began in 1915 as a way for legislativ­e wives to become better acquainted with one another. She volunteere­d for the Oklahoma Blood Institute. She was also a former Sunday school teacher and choir member at church. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edward Kimble Maguire, Dwayne John Maguire and son-in-law Larry Kenneth Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Davis, grandson Parker Davis, one niece and one nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to All Souls’ Episcopal Church or your charity of choice. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Resurrecti­on Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
