EDMOND - The incredible Dr. Gin Ru Wang, 47, of Edmond, OK, died on May 13, 2022, after a long, brave battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Perkins, who is forever grateful to have married up, and her four loving children, Julianna, Braden, Gisela, and Serafina Perkins, all of whom luckily resemble their mother.

Gin was born in Tainan, Taiwan on April 26, 1975. When she was eleven, she immigrated with her family to the United States and began a path of global domination. Gin and Jason met in high school and spent 29 joyful years together. Gin graduated from Westmoore High School (1993), The University of Oklahoma (1998), and Duke Medical School (2002). After graduation, she trained as an interventional radiologist at The University of Texas Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She spent her professional career helping patients at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Gin loved feminism, crosswords, and mussels. She was a loyal friend, a fierce protector, and a brilliant teacher. She was exactly the sort of person you would want on your side in any situation, especially if you thought a fight might break out. She had an enormous presence that commanded respect and always provided love. Gin adored animals and kept herself surrounded by as many dogs as possible. Her most profound impact on the world was raising four wonderful children. She knew that they would be her legacy, and she worked every day to nurture and guide them into the amazing people they are today. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 23rd at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. In lieu of flowers, please take your spouse or loved one on a date.
