CHELSEA - Roger Louis Klopfenste­in, 63, of Chelsea, Oklahoma went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He died from complicati­ons of burns that he sustained while trying to save his wife Danna from a fire that destroyed their home.

He was born July 9, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK, the elder of two children, to Ronald Gene and Loretta Delores (Nault) Klopfenste­in.

Roger grew up in Bethany, OK and attended Western Oaks Junior High School and he graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1977. After graduation, Roger worked at a number of different jobs - he worked at Laufen Tile Company for many years, then he went to welding school and worked for Solvay until he retired to care for his wife.

Roger loved animals and he and Danna spent the past several years working on their hobby farm, raising cattle, horses, and goats.

Roger married Danna Cooper Abrahams on September 10, 2004 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tulsa, OK.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Therese Klopfenste­in of Oklahoma City, OK; his stepdaught­er, Stacy O’Ferrall ( Jennifer Nelson) of Austin, TX; and his stepsons, Robert O’Ferrall (Sarah Thomas) of Owasso, OK, Jason Edwards of Tulsa, OK, and Matthew Martinson of St. Louis, MO; his step-granddaugh­ters, Addyson and Ainslee O’Ferrall and Jaime Martinson; his paternal uncles, Ray (Karon) Klopfenste­in and Dale (Luanne) Klopfenste­in; and numerous cousins.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Danna and his parents, Ronald and Loretta Klopfenste­in.

He was a kind and loving husband, son, brother and stepfather and he will be dearly missed!

A Requiem Mass for both Roger and his wife Danna will be held Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Church, 8455 NW 234th St., Edmond, OK. Visitation and Rosary will take place a half an hour before the Mass. Interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery adjoining the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses to be said for the repose of Roger’s soul and the soul of his wife Danna, or a donation made in his honor to Willow Pregnancy Support of Oklahoma City or the charity of your choice.
