Voting is open for the oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for Feb. 28-March 6.

Here are the nominees.

Boys basketball

Diante Palmer, Sr., El Reno: Palmer drained the buzzer-beater 3-pointer for a 47-46 win against Piedmont, sending El Reno into the Class 5A state tournament. He led his team with 18 points.

Xavier Ridenour, Sr., Kingfisher: Ridenour helped Kingfisher defeat North Rock Creek, 51-36, to secure an area championsh­ip and the program’s seventh consecutiv­e state tournament berth. He recorded 21 points and four assists.

Ja’Mon Valentine, Jr., Choctaw: Valentine played a key role in the Yellowjack­ets’ 49-48 win against Westmoore, which sealed their first trip to the state tournament since 1967. His stat line featured 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Girls basketball

Seleh Harmon, So., Norman North: Harmon scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Norman North advance to the Class 6A state championsh­ip. Norman North bested Midwest City 58-47.

Skylar Durley, So., Classen SAS: A part of a dominant duo, Durley scored 17 points, grabbed five rebounds and three steals to help send Classen SAS back to the Class 4A state tournament. Classen SAS took down Weatherfor­d 54-52 as Durley made the game-winning layup.

Josie Megehee, So., Bethel: Megehee scored 30 points, shooting 11-of-13 from behind the free throw line to help Bethel win its Area championsh­ip. Bethel took down Silo 60-54 to advance to the Class 3A state tournament.
