‘Hamilton,’ ‘Frozen’ to make stops in Oklahoma City next
Oklahoma City can now take its shot at the return engagement of “Hamilton.”
OKC single tickets now are on sale for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash musical, which returns to Civic Center Music Hall for May 24-June 4 performances to close OKC Broadway’s 2022-23 season.
Tickets are on sale at OKCBroadway.com, at the Civic Center Music Hall Box Office or by calling 405-594-8300. There is a maximum purchase limit of eight tickets per account for the engagement. Tickets range from $39 to $149, plus regular fees, with premium tickets from $179 for all performances.
Plus, a lottery for 40 $10 seats will be offered for all performances. Details will be announced closer to the show’s OKC engagement.
After playing a three-week run in Oklahoma City in summer 2019, Miranda’s revolutionary song-and-dance biography of “ten-dollar Founding Father” Alexander Hamilton continues to resonate as a pop-culture phenomenon. The show has won Tony, Grammy and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
Disney’s ‘Frozen’ will be the next show this season
The musical version of Disney’s “Frozen” will be the next-to-last show on OKC Broadway’s six-show subscription season, with performances March 22April 2 at the Civic Center.
Originally set to come to OKC during the 2020-21 season before the COVID-19 pandemic forced audiences to temporarily “Let It Go,” the stage adaption of the Oscar-winning animated blockbuster features the film’s familiar songs, plus= an expanded score with a dozen new numbers by the movie’s award-winning songwriters, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
