Here is The Oklahoman's 2023 All-City high school boys cross country first team.

Mez Barth, Stillwater

Class: Junior

The story: Barth was the lone male runner from Stillwater who competed at the Class 6A state meet on Oct. 28 at Edmond Santa Fe. He represente­d his school well, placing sixth in the 5-kilometer run with a time of 15 minutes, 48.79 seconds.

Spencer Carlson, Deer Creek

Class: Senior

The story: He helped Class 6A Deer Creek claim its 10th boys cross country state title since 2006. Carlson placed fifth in 15:41.66 at the state meet.

Corbin Galt, Perkins-Tryon

Class: Senior

The story: Galt was less than a second away from winning the Class 4A state championsh­ip. He was the runner-up with a time of 15:42.98, while Tulsa Regent Prep sophomore Clay McKinney won in 15:42.19. Galt also placed second at the Oklahoma Meet of Champions on Nov. 4 at North Rock Creek as he finished in 16:10.40.

Cameron Langdon, Mustang

Class: Junior

The story: He placed fourth in 15:40.59 at the Class 6A state meet and played a big role in Mustang's runner-up finish in the team standings.

Zac Rutherford, Edmond North

Class: Senior

The story: The University of Arkansas at Little Rock signee didn't have a strong start to the season but peaked at the right time and ran his best when it mattered most. Rutherford won the Class 6A state championsh­ip in 15:16.13.

Noah Thayer, Mustang

Class: Sophomore

The story: He was Mustang's top runner at the Class 6A state meet and finished as the runner-up with a time of 15:33.91.

Brody Woodcock, Deer Creek

Class: Senior

The story: A key senior leader for Deer Creek, the Tulsa signee placed third in 15:37.72 at the Class 6A state meet.

Coach of the Year: Zac Coulson, Bethany

The story: Coulson led Bethany to its first boys cross country state championsh­ip in school history. The Bronchos, who compete in Class 4A, finished with 94 points as they placed ahead of Cache, which had 110. Bethany was led by five seniors — Sebastian Caballero, Levi Johnson, Cole Powell, Nolan Stayton and Mason Wyett.
