EDMOND - Cecil Ray Callicott was born on July 7, 1935 in Foreman, Arkansas to Wallace and Decora (McCandless) Callicott. He passed away on November 25, 2023. Cecil was the youngest of 8 children. He grew up fishing, swimming and catching frogs. He was a talented athlete and played football throughout junior high and high school. At the age of 18, he joined the USAF. He completed training at the aircraft mechanic school in Wichita Falls and then was stationed at Parks AFB in California. He was later stationed in Alaska for 2 years where he honed his craft. After the air force, he moved to California to be near his beloved sister, Vera. He went on to work for McDonald Douglas Aircraft and would later meet his wife Mimi. They married in 1961. They relocated to Oklahoma City and would later make their home in Choctaw, OK where they would raise their 4 children. Cecil graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in accounting. He worked as an auditor for the state parks service and would later go onto TAFB where he was chief of accounting and payroll. Cecil had a green thumb and enjoyed organic gardening. He was an excellent carpenter and volunteere­d for a while with Habitat for Humanity.

Cecil is survived by daughter Darla Callicott of Yukon, daughter Donna and Abhi Razdan of Edmond, son Ray and Anna and children Tatum and Chastity of Edmond, grandson Zackary Frantz of Choctaw, sister Vernita Jordan of OKC and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers A.W. and Dorsey, sisters Annie and Vera, wife Mimi and daughter Denise.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2 pm at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond.
