OKLAHAHOMA CITY - Robert L. Kraus peacefully joined the Lord, surrounded by his entire family, at home on December 20, 2023, at the age of 95. Born on October 13, 1928, in Kingfisher, OK, to John and Frances Kraus, Robert embraced a life of love and joy. Robert united in marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Rueter, on September 5, 1949. A dedicated farmer throughout his life, Robert was a true jack of all trades. From tending to the fields to fixing pipes, from being a handyman to a skilled butcher, Robert’s hands were always busy. However, his favorite pastime was tinkering with toys alongside his cherished grandkids. Known as the biggest kid at heart, Robert was always the instigator of fun, creating lasting memories with his family. He is survived by five children, Carol Barber, companion Dan Snare, Robert Kraus, Jr., wife Patti, Janice Vaughn, husband Les Vaughn, Pat Kraus, Mike Kraus, wife Regina, 15 grandchild­ren, 31 great-grandchild­ren, 3 great-great grandchild­ren, brothers Edward and John Kraus and wife Jeannie, one sister Betty Ivie. He is proceeded in death by brothers Walt, Francis, Clarence and Franklin, and one sister Lucille Rund. A Vigil Service to honor Robert’s life will be held at 6:30 pm on December 27, 2023, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on December 28, 2023. Both services will be hosted at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mustang. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Holy Spirit Catholic Church to the memorial fund for Stanley Rother statue in memory of Robert and Mary Kraus.
