BOOK NOTES
The “Killers of the Flower Moon” movie directed by Martin Scorsese is based on the book of the same name by David Grann which was published in 2017. When Grann was researching the cases that involved the murders and kidnappings of the Osage people during what became known as the Reign of Terror, he went through hundreds of documents all over the country including items found in the State Archives at the Oklahoma Department of Libraries. In the collections, you will find original case files, correspondence, and other documents related to the investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators of the murders of Osage tribal members. In an effort to provide these resources for the public to view, the State Archives staff have digitized many of these items.
