HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Voting for The Oklahoman's high school boys athletes of the week poll presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now open for Dec. 26-Jan. 1. Fans can vote until noon Sunday.

Putnam City North guard Anthony Leonard won the most recent Dec. 1117 poll with 2,883 votes (51.53%). Edmond Santa Fe's Gavin Horn and Carl Albert's Caden Longstreet tied for first in the wrestling poll, while Edmond North's Garrett Levendofsk­y won the swimming poll.

Here are this weeks nominees, which are basketball only due to the holiday break:

Boys basketball

Dayton Forsythe, Sr., Dale: The OU signee had a stellar showing at Tulsa's Tournament of Champions, leading the Pirates to a runner-up finish while scoring 34 points in a three-point loss to Owasso. Forsythe averaged 21.6 points in the tournament.

Anthony Leonard, Jr., Putnam City North: Leonard, the most recent player of the week poll winner, performed well in the Bank7 Mustang Holiday Classic. The 6-foot-3 guard scored 31 points to lead Putnam City North over Carl Albert in the tournament semifinals.

Roman Miller, Jr., Mustang: Miller was awarded Bank7 Mustang Holiday Classic Most Valuable Player honor after leading the Broncos to a title in their annual Christmas tournament. In his three games, Miller averaged 20.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.3 steals.

Dylan Warlick, Sr., Edmond North: The Wyoming signee had a monster outing at the Tournament of Champions, taking home the MVP award. Warlick averaged 20.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and four assists on 51% shooting to help lead the Huskies to the tournament title.
