Flowers are blooming and it’s that time of year to celebrate your love and appreciati­on for the maternal figures in your life.

One thing is certain when it comes to celebratin­g Mother’s Day in Oklahoma City, there is no shortage of fun, foodcenter­ed choices for honoring the women in your life. From desserts to dinners and picnics to brunch as many ways as you can imagine — even in a castle — you can have your pick with upcoming Mother’s Day specials, events and features.

So whether it’s for mom, grandma, an aunt, your partner, someone else entirely, or even yourself, there are great ways to make Mother’s Day special. Be aware of special dates and times on promotions and events and book now to secure your spot for those places on the list requiring tickets or reservatio­ns.

1. High Tea at The Gilded Acorn

While you can’t book this option for Sunday, because the restaurant is closed, you can treat mom to high tea at The Gilded Acorn any day this week through Saturday when you book the experience online. For $45 per person receive a selection of two teas plus macarons, small pastries and tea sandwiches curated by chef Andrew Black. A 48 hour notice is required for high tea reservatio­ns. 2. Mother’s Day special at Fish City Grill

Edmond’s Fish City Grill will feature a special menu item (seared jumbo New Bedford scallops and Gulf shrimp served with Parmesan risotto mixed with asparagus and spring peas) and watermelon margaritas all day May 1012 so you can take mom for lunch or dinner any day during the weekend.

3. Mother’s Day Picnic at Crown Heights Park by Classy Pitch

Is a Mother’s Day picnic more your mom’s speed? Classy Pitch will be setting up picnics at Crown Heights Park on Saturday and Sunday that will include a set up in the park for up to four people, a dozen chocolate-covered strawberri­es, a charcuteri­e board and a flower bouquet for mom for $200. 4. Mother’s Day Brunch at Sedalia’s Oyster & Seafood

Dine on the oysters Sedalia’s has become known for as part of a custom four-course brunch menu for $75 per person, plus fees. The restaurant will have a Champagne cart, mimosas and carefully crafted cocktails available to round out the meal.

5. Third annual Norman Pride Mother’s Day Drag Brunch

Another fun and unique option for Mother’s Day is enjoying brunch while supporting the local LGBTQ+ community at a drag show. You can do that at Victoria’s in Norman. Tickets to the show are $40, and with shows planned at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., you can choose the time that works best for you. Location: 215 E. 6. Mother’s Day Brunch at The Omni

The Omni will host a brunch buffet with a fresh seafood station, traditiona­l brunch favorites, expertly carved specialtie­s, and more from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults are $75 and children ages 6-12 are $35, plus tax and gratuity. 7. Mother’s Day Dessert Cruise with Oklahoma River Cruises

Enjoy compliment­ary bite-sized desserts and sip mimosas and Champagne from the cash bar on board this one and a half hour cruise on the Oklahoma River. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance. Cruises depart at 1 and 4 p.m.

8. The Skirvin’s Mother’s Day Brunch

Book a reservatio­n for Mother’s Day Brunch at the Skirvin from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy a buffet of breakfast favorites including omelets, salads, seafood, a carving station, and an entire hallway of desserts. The event will also feature live music and mimosas. Tickets are $72.95 for adults and $24.95 for children ages 3-12. 11. Mother’s Day Brunch at Castle Falls Wedding Venue

A special chef-curated buffet-style Mother’s Day Brunch in the Grande Hall event venue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brunch will include a made to order omelet and meat carving station, scrambled eggs, black pepper bacon, country sausage, hash brown casserole, biscuits, gravy, spring salad, fried chicken, pearl-sugar waffles, fruit, cheese, assorted desserts, juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and bar service. Tickets are $77.18 for adults (includes tax and gratuity), and $38.59 for children 10 and under. The venue does not not provide high chairs or boosters. 12. Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar Mother’s Day Brunch

From May 1-12, you can stop into la Madeleine and pick up a box of six macarons with flavors including raspberry, pistachio, chocolate, lemon, blackberry and vanilla for $11.99 or fresh strawberri­es handdipped in-house in la Madeleine’s signature chocolate ganache, available as a single for $1.99 or a pack of three for $5.49.
