2 charged with selling drugs
Two Oneida residents have been charged with selling and possessing prescription drugs.
On Wednesday, Oneida City Police arrested Nichole R. Allen, 28, of Lenox Avenue in Oneida and Jerome O. Jones, 42, of Lenox Avenue in Oneida on Superior Court arrest warrants.
Police say Allen possessed and sold hydrocodone and oxycodone, while Jones possessed and sold oxycodone and marijuana.
Allen was charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of fourthdegree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies. Jones received felony charges of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He further was charged with fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Madison County Grand Jury indictments were filed on Jan. 29 for Allen and Jones.
Court papers accuse the two of “acting in concert” on Jan. 7 at a second-floor apartment located at 304 Lenox Ave. in Oneida, where they allegedly sold hydrocodone and oxycodone.
Police also allege that Allen sold hydrocodone from the same location around Oct. 16, 2014.
On Dec. 10, 2014, police say Jones sold marijuana from the same apartment.
Jones is being held in Madison County Jail on $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Madison County Court again on Feb. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
Allenis being held in Madison County Jail $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Madison County Court again on Feb. 9 at 9:50 a.m.
Both were arraigned in Madison County Court. Jail records indicate both were still in jail as of early Thursday evening.
According to Oneida Dispatch archives, Oneida City Police charged Allen with petty larceny after allegedly stealing property from another person in February 2012.
On Friday, May 9, 2014, Jones was ticketed by Oneida City Police for possession of an open container of alcohol in public.
Archives further show that on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, Jones was arrested as a fugitive from justice. Hewas allegedly wanted by police in Dunklin County, Mo., on a charge of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a class C felony. After his arrest, Jones was arraigned and held in Madison County Jail pending extradition.
