The Red Devils girls tennis team forced three sets and second and third doubles but couldn’t come away with a point in either and were eliminated from the Section III Class B playoffs with Saturday’s loss.

NEW HARTFORD 5, CHITTENANG­O2

The Bears won points in third and fourth doubles but couldn’t avoid eliminatio­n at the hands of the Spartans.

Jamesville-DeWitt (96) won the team title while Camden (128) placed fourth at the event led by Austin Terault’s eighth-place finish in 18:24.5. Owen Rose’s sixthplace finish (18:19.1) helped Vernon-Verona-Sherrill finish fifth (133) and Dakota Corney finished fourth (17:55.2) for ninth-place Oneida (201).

Jamesville-DeWitt (46) claimed the top spot while freshman Allison Donnelly (22:13.2) finished ninth for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (136), helping the Red Devils take fifth. Camden finished two spots behind them in seventh (173), led by eighth grader Morgan Lucason’s third-place finish in 20:26.7. Olivia McGranagha­n (24:44.9) placed 28th for 11thplace Oneida (261).
