Rummage and bake sale at Christ Church

SHERRILL>> The Women of Christ Church United Methodist will hold a rummage and bake sale on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Oct. 10 there will be a $1 bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon on rummage sale items. The church is located at the corner of Park Street and East Noyes Boulevard.

Fall rummage sale Friday, Saturday

ONEIDA>> Oneida Baptist Church will hold its Fall Rummage Sale on Friday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a $1 bag sale on Saturday. The sale will include clothing, accessorie­s, books and household items. The church is located at the corner of Main Street and Washington Avenue.

Harvest Dinner served Saturday

CANASTOTA>> The United Church of Canastota will host its annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 4-6:30 p.m. The menu includes chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans, beverage and assorted desserts for $7 per meal. Eat in or take out. The church, located at 144 Center St., is handicappe­d accessible.

Auction fundraiser set for Saturday

CHITTENANG­O>> CrossRoads Community Church will hold an auction fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Community Center at the church, 1751 Fyler Road. Those attending can bid on artwork or services provided by the Guatemala Missions Team members (yard work, painting, cleaning, hanging Christmas lights, etc.). Refreshmen­ts will be provided. Organ recital offered Sunday

HAMILTON>> First Baptist Church will present an organ concert with guest artist Joey Fala on Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the church, 27 Broad St. Admission is free. A catered reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. The concert will include works by Bach, Mendelssoh­n and Vierne.

Catholic Daughters will meet Oct. 13

VERNON>> Court Our Lady No. 1250, Catholic Daughters of America will hold its annual covered dish supper meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Holy Family Parish Center, 4343 Peterboro St.

All members are urged to attend and reminded to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. All Catholic women from the area parishes are invited to be guests of the court for supper and to enjoy the court’s October festivity of fellowship in carrying out the mission of Mary, Patroness of the Court.

Fall Country Fair slated in Rome

ROME >> First Presbyteri­an Church, 108 W. Court St., will hold a Fall Country Fair on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature crafts, lunch, sweet treats and antiques.

Three-night program offered at St. Pat’s

ONEIDA>> Fr. Francis Pompei, OFM, a nationally known speaker, will present a three-night mission at St. Patrick’s Church Sunday, Oct. 18 through Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. each night. His topics will be faith, hope, suffering, experienci­ng Jesus and church. Some witness talks will be included. All are welcome. Pompei, a Franciscan priest who is a native of Oswego, has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, master’s degrees in theology and spirituali­ty and a certificat­e in sign language for the deaf. He has spent his ministry working with the poor and has done extensive retreat work with adults and teens.

CROPWalk is Oct. 18

CANASTOTA>> The 2015 “We Walk Because They Walk” CROP Hunger Walk sponsored by the Canastota Area Associatio­n of Churches and Oneida Area Christian Churches will take place Sunday, Oct. 18. The walk begins at the United Church of Canastota, 144 W. Center St. with registrati­on at noon. The walk will begin at 1 p.m. Neighbors of ¬different ages, faiths, and background­s will walk together to take a stand against hunger and illiteracy in the world. Money raised will be used for internatio­nal relief and developmen­t as well as local hunger and literacy programs. For more informatio­n, call the Rev. Verona CROPWalk set for Oct. 24

VERONA>> The Verona CROP Hunger Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 24. Registrati­on will be 8:45 a.m. at the Verona Methodist Church, 5690 E. Main St. Routes range from one-half mile to two miles with rest stops along the way if needed.

This year some 2000 cities and towns nationwide are joining together in interfaith community CROP Hunger Walks around the theme “Ending hunger one step at a time.”

Harvest Dinner at St. John’s Church

ONEIDA>> St. John’s Episcopal Church, 341 Main St., will have its Harvest Dinner on Oct. 25 from noon to 4 p.m.

The menu will include turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberrie­s, carrots, biscuits, pies and beverage served family style. Dinners are $11 for adults, $10 for seniors, $4 for children (6-12), and children 5 and younger are free. Dine in, take out, or free home delivery will be available. Movie and lunch at CrossRoads Church
