Walmart manager put bench where needed
I hunted down the manager of our local Walmart to ask him would it be possible to put a bench outside his store, because now with the bus running also the taxi it would be a help to the people who do not drive.
Well to my surprise within a week there were two benches outside.
I went right inside to tell Mr. Jim Breed thank you. It’s nice to know that he considers his customers. Thank you again, Jim Breed.

Madison Cortland ARC does great job packing cakes
For the past five years, we have entered into a relationship with Madison Cortland ARC as our fulfillment partner in Oneida.
We started out not knowing much about the retail business and they have truly become our partner and our friends.
This month, they shipped pallets of our product, My Cup of Cake, to 150 Sam’s Clubs. We were amazed how efficient and accurate they were. Everything shipped on time and we have to thank 30-year veteran Patti Curro for her dedication in training the men and women with disabilities. Her patience is endless and her demeanor always upbeat and to me, almost heroic.
Our business has grown tremendously thanks to these unseen faces. Now that we are in local Sam’s Clubs in Rochester/ Syracuse area, we have to pay tribute to them. Every package includes a small 3 x 5 thank you card to the ARC team so consumers know who packaged the product.
As you are probably aware, government cutbacks are shrinking the work centers every year. As a small business owner, we can’t thank them enough and couldn’t have achieved this level of success without them.
We hope you provide this amazing team of workers some recognition for all their hard work and determination. — Sharon Tracy, Port

Support Schiebel for Oneida County legislator
In this year’s election for Oneida County legislator to represent District 1 there is one clear choice for voters. Keith Schiebel is that choice.
I have known Keith for almost 25 years and in that time have come to learn first-hand what a knowledgeable, dedicated and trustworthy individual he is.
I have been able to work closely with Keith on a wide variety of agricultural issues over the past 15 years and can attest to his passion for agriculture. He will be a voice not only for farmers in District 1 but for all farmers within Oneida County. He will advocate to create a business climate that will allow farm businesses to thrive.
Cast a vote for Schiebel and support Oneida County agriculture.— John Wagner, Munnsville
Thans for helping orphans in Kenya
On Sept. 26 we held our 2015 Walk for Rehema Home, an orphanage in Kenya. Proceeds from this event will fund daily necessities such as medical care, food, clothing, and school fees for more than 90 children currently living at Rehema Home.
The founding directors of this work in Africa are personal friends. Therefore, I am confident that money raised will go directly to benefit the orphans. I have worked with Irv and Ruth Schwandt in Kenya and have volunteered at both sites there.
On behalf of Rehema Home we thank all those who walked, volunteered, and donated. We are also grateful to the following local businesses that kindly contributed to the success of our fundraiser: Denny’s Restaurant, Dunkin’ Donuts, Frozen Ropes, McDonald’s, Olympia Sports, Price Chopper, Tim Hortons, and Walmart.
