Aaron R. Teater, 23, of Verona
VERONA>> Aaron Richard Teater, 23, of 5263 Willow Place, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2016, after drowning in Oneida Lake.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1992, in Red Wing, Minn., the son of Randall and Nancy Person Teater.
He was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, Class of 2013.
Aaron was employed as a casino area attendant in the food and beverage department at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. He previously worked for Wal-Mart in Oneida for a short time.
Aaron moved to Verona in 2008 from Lowville.
He enjoyed playing video games and going to Dunkin’ Donuts. Aaron loved to spend time with his friends and was a true gentleman to the ladies. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.
Surviving are his mother, Nancy Teater and her companion, Matt Pooler, of Verona; his father, Randall Teater, of Turin; a sister, Starlette Teater and her significant other, Brian Douglass, of Oneida; three uncles, Bruce (Bonnie) Teater, of Ohio, Michael (Karen) Teater, of Ohio, and Donald Person, of Minnesota; two aunts, Mavis “Jeanie” (Bruce) Johnson, of Minnesota, Joanne “Jody” Anderson, of Minnesota; and lots of cousins.
A Time for Sharing stories of Aaron will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 12 p.m. (noon) to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida. Memorial contributions may be made in Aaron’s memory to the Sylvan Beach Fire Department Water Rescue Team, P.O. Box 503, Sylvan Beach, N.Y. 13157.
