VERONA>> Aaron Richard Teater, 23, of 5263 Willow Place, passed away unexpected­ly on Monday, May 2, 2016, after drowning in Oneida Lake.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1992, in Red Wing, Minn., the son of Randall and Nancy Person Teater.

He was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, Class of 2013.

Aaron was employed as a casino area attendant in the food and beverage department at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. He previously worked for Wal-Mart in Oneida for a short time.

Aaron moved to Verona in 2008 from Lowville.

He enjoyed playing video games and going to Dunkin’ Donuts. Aaron loved to spend time with his friends and was a true gentleman to the ladies. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.

Surviving are his mother, Nancy Teater and her companion, Matt Pooler, of Verona; his father, Randall Teater, of Turin; a sister, Starlette Teater and her significan­t other, Brian Douglass, of Oneida; three uncles, Bruce (Bonnie) Teater, of Ohio, Michael (Karen) Teater, of Ohio, and Donald Person, of Minnesota; two aunts, Mavis “Jeanie” (Bruce) Johnson, of Minnesota, Joanne “Jody” Anderson, of Minnesota; and lots of cousins.

A Time for Sharing stories of Aaron will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 12 p.m. (noon) to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida. Memorial contributi­ons may be made in Aaron’s memory to the Sylvan Beach Fire Department Water Rescue Team, P.O. Box 503, Sylvan Beach, N.Y. 13157.
