Western NYmail carrier sentenced for stealing
BUFFALO >> A 23-year-old former mail carrier has been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution for opening mail and stealing gift cards and cash.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Tuesday that Nichole Crosson of Buffalo was sentenced to two years; probation and ordered to pay $1,729 in restitution.
At the time of her guilty plea in June, prosecutors said she could have faced a maximum sentence of a year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
The thefts occurred between January and April 2016.
