Oneida falls to Homer, Chittenango advances
The Oneida football team dropped a 6-0Section III Class B quarterfinal game to Homer on Friday night while Chittenango rallied to beat Central Valley Academy and advance to the semifinals.

Trailing by 10 going into halftime, the Bears scored 30 second-half points to come away with the victory and advance to the Section III Class B semifinals for the second straight season. Cooper Young foundHunter Hendrix for two touchdown passes in the third quarter as Chittenango pulled in front but Josh Klosner’s 37yard scoring run gave CVA a 30-28 edge going into the final period.

ONONDAGA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE LIBERTY CHAMPIONSHIPS » The Chittenango boys cross country team placed second in the league championships at Long Branch Park, powered by top-10 finishes from Mike Capeling (4th, 17:30.9) and Karl Farber (8th, 17:44.4).
Cazenovia followed in third, led by JamesMcPherson’s second place finish with a time of 17:17.0. The Lakers also placed third in the girls meet, led by the top two finishers. Meggie Hart took first for Cazenovia in 19:37.3, followed by teammate Clara Rowles with a time of 19:48.0.
