Born Dec. 21, 1919, Louise was a beautiful Christmas gift to her parents. She lived in the Munnsville/Oneida area, attending Stockbridge Valley School
District and later took some classes at Cazenovia College. She married Robert Mitchell in June of 1941 at the family cottage on Stockbridge Falls and they lived in Munnsville for their entire married life. They ran a family business in Munns- ville and she later joined the Stockbridge Valley School District as a secretary and business manager.
Louise deeply loved her family, her church and her community. She was a volunteer at the library, the Stockbridge Cemetery Board and at the Munnsville Congregational Church, where she became one of their infamous “pie-makers.” She enjoyed gardening, walking with her nieces when she was able, bowling and participating in a weekly “sewing” group that included family, friends and many laughs.
The family would like to thank the staff at the assisted living facility, Westwood Commons, located in North Chili, N.Y. and the Lakeside Beikirch Care Center in Brockport, N.Y. for the excellent and supportive care that she received.
Her burial service was held at the Stockbridge Cemetery on Dec. 27, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. in the Munnsville Congregational Church on Williams Road, Munnsville, N.Y. 13409.
