‘Memories and Reflection’
Violin and piano recital to feature Mozart, Bach, Enesco
CLINTON, N.Y. >> Hamilton College Performing Arts presents Shem Guibbory violin, and Sar-Shalom Strong, piano, in Memories and Reflections on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.
The evening of music for violin and piano includes Mozart’s Sonata in E minor and Bach’s Sonata in B minor, and Georges Enesco’s Impressions D’Enfance accompanied by photographic images by Peter Laytin.
Shem Guibbory has achieved recognition as an award-winning violin soloist, as a chamber musician and as a music director and artistic producer. Currently he is a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. From 1997 to 2006 he was music director of the Bennington Chamber Music Conference.
Peter Laytinis a photographer and educator based in Massachusetts and professor of communications cedia and head of the photography program at Fitchburg State University. Laytin has had numerous one-person exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe. He is the author of the highly acclaimed textbook Creative Camera Control for Focal Press. A native of Utica, Sar-Shalom Strong is currently a lecturer in piano and coordinator of staff pianists for Hamilton College, where he has taught since 2001.
