Tax prep, kids programs, book talks and more
MORRISVILLE>> Morrisville Public Library offers the following programs in March.
Free Tax Prep for Seniors is available for residents 60 years and older until April 15. Call Marie Smith at (315) 684-3903 to make an appointment.
Teen/Adult Movie Night will feature “The Light Between Oceans” on Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. This is rated PG-13 so no one younger than 13 will be admitted without a parent/guardian. Popcorn is provided; viewers may bring their own beverage.
The library’s annual spring book sale takes place Saturday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kiddies Korner preschool story hour is held each Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The library will host a Wine and Paint night on Friday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. for adults and children 13 and older. Cost is $30 per person (payable the night of the program). Reservations are required as space is limited.
On Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. the Morrisville Public Library will have a special presentation with World War II veteran Horace Keller and Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz. Keller will talk about his time in the service as a member of the 237th Combat Engineers, building bridges in Germany. After the war was over, Keller returned to New York and attended Morrisville College, where he met his future wife and graduated with a degree in auto mechanics.
Book Talk will feature “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Copies are available at the library. The discussion is open to teens and adults.
The library will hold a raffle for two children’s Easter baskets. Tickets are available at the library or from any library trustee from Thursday, March 16 through Thursday, April 13. Tickets are $1 each. Win- ners will be announced on April 13.
The library board of trustees will meet Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
Family Bingo Night is back on Friday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. All kids are guaranteed a prize and adults play for fun. Refreshments will be provided.
Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz will present “Faces from the Archives” on Friday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. Utilizing records from Madison County’s extensive government records, Urtz will tell the stories of various people and events.
Family Movie Night will present “Moana,” rated PG, on Friday, March 31 at 7 p.m. Popcorn is provided; viewers may bring their own beverage.
