Hockey players will visit Sherrill Library

SHERRILL>> The Utica Comets will be visiting the Sherrill Kenwood Free Library on Wednesday, March 1 at 5 p.m. Comet players Jake Virtanen and Michael Carcone will read a story, share their experiences of life in the world of professional hockey and sign autographs.

“Moana” will play at Cazenovia Library

CAZENOVIA>> Cazenovia Public Library will present a free public screening of “Moana,” Walt Disney Animation Studio’s latest musical extravaganza, on Friday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. The movie is rated PG and runs 107 minutes. Fish dinners slated for March, April

CHITTENANGO>> Chittenango Fire Department will hold fish dinners on March 3, March 24 and April 14 beginning at 4 p.m. at the fire station. The dinners include fried fish, french fries or Macaroni and cheese and coleslaw or tossed salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10 for the meal, $8 for fish only and $7 for children. A hot dog meal will be available for $7.

Author will speak at Cazenovia Library

CAZENOVIA>> Cazenovia Public Library will host a special presentation by author Madis Senner on Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m.

Art for Kids offered March 10

CAZENOVIA>> Children ages 8-14 are invited to the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room on Friday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. for “In the Jungle with Rousseau,” an exploration into the life and art of Henri Rousseau.

During the program, participants will learn about the French painter’s unique artistic style, examine his work, and have the opportunity to create their own Rousseau-in- spired jungle collage and miniature terrarium. Driver safety class set for April 4

CANASTOTA>> AARP is sponsoring a driver safety class on Wednesday, April 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rusty Rail, Route 5. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers.

A luncheon buffet is available for $11. Pre-registration is required by calling the instructor, John Backman at (315) 292-1607. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. to complete the registration process, and bring their driver’s license, a pen and a check payable to AARP for the course fee.

Those who complete the course will be eligible to receive a 10 percent discount on their liability, collision, and no fault insurance premiums.
