Hockey players will visit Sherrill Library

SHERRILL>> The Utica Comets will be visiting the Sherrill Kenwood Free Library on Wednesday, March 1 at 5 p.m. Comet players Jake Virtanen and Michael Carcone will read a story, share their experience­s of life in the world of profession­al hockey and sign autographs.

“Moana” will play at Cazenovia Library

CAZENOVIA>> Cazenovia Public Library will present a free public screening of “Moana,” Walt Disney Animation Studio’s latest musical extravagan­za, on Friday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. The movie is rated PG and runs 107 minutes. Fish dinners slated for March, April

CHITTENANG­O>> Chittenang­o Fire Department will hold fish dinners on March 3, March 24 and April 14 beginning at 4 p.m. at the fire station. The dinners include fried fish, french fries or Macaroni and cheese and coleslaw or tossed salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10 for the meal, $8 for fish only and $7 for children. A hot dog meal will be available for $7.

Author will speak at Cazenovia Library

Art for Kids offered March 10

CAZENOVIA>> Children ages 8-14 are invited to the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room on Friday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. for “In the Jungle with Rousseau,” an exploratio­n into the life and art of Henri Rousseau.

During the program, participan­ts will learn about the French painter’s unique artistic style, examine his work, and have the opportunit­y to create their own Rousseau-in- spired jungle collage and miniature terrarium. Driver safety class set for April 4

CANASTOTA>> AARP is sponsoring a driver safety class on Wednesday, April 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rusty Rail, Route 5. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers.

A luncheon buffet is available for $11. Pre-registrati­on is required by calling the instructor, John Backman at (315) 292-1607. Participan­ts are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. to complete the registrati­on process, and bring their driver’s license, a pen and a check payable to AARP for the course fee.

Those who complete the course will be eligible to receive a 10 percent discount on their liability, collision, and no fault insurance premiums.
