ONEIDA>> Joyce L. Eberlein, 81, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 22, 2017, in Oneida as a result of a pedestrian­motor vehicle accident.

Born in Brookings, S.D. on Aug. 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Frank and Gladys Messerschm­idt Eberlein, sister to Fern, Lorraine, Lavada, Melvin, Delvin, Alvin and Calvin.

Prior to her retirement, Joyce was employed with Rome Memorial Hospital as a supervisor in the medical records department. She was educated in Brookings, S.D. and moved to the Central New York area in 1960. Joyce was a strong supporter of Helping Hands Monkey Helpers for over twenty-five years and enjoyed wildlife, bird watching, the outdoors and flower gardens. She loved her family and music. She attended the Oneida Baptist Church. She has now joined her partner and friend of over fifty years, Eva Dunster, in heaven and is survived by her family including, Chris Hollenbeck, Dawn Dunning and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida with the Reverend Brian Fellows, officiatin­g.
