Job fair being held March 22, 25

Vernon Downs will hold a job fair for several full-time, parttime and seasonal positions.

VERNON, N.Y.>> Vernon Downs will host a job fair later this month for a wide variety of open positions in preparation for the 2017 racing season.

The job fair will be held in the Event Center on Wednesday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Numerous full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions in facilities, food & beverage, hotel/hospitality, marketing, mutuels, operations, players club, racing, and security are available.

“Vernon Downs is gearing up for another successful season of racing and we’re looking for passionate and talented people to join our team,” said owner Jeff Gural. “We encourage everyone interested to attend the job fair, dress to impress, and be ready for on-the-spot interviews.”

Guests can experience live harness racing at Vernon Downs for two-thirds of the year with races running from April through November.

The racino hosts a variety of premier stakes events, including the Crawford Farms Open Trot, Muscle Hill OpenMare Trot, and the Dr. HarryM. Zweig Memorial Trot. The venue also offers a variety of family-friendly events, such as camel and ostrich races, opportunities to meet the drivers, and special days with deep discounts on food and beverage to allow for an affordable outing.
