SHERRILL >> Judith A. Esch, age 75, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning March 15, 2017 at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was a longtime resident of Sherrill, most recently of Noyes Manor.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1941 in New Cumberland, Pa. a daughter of the late Ellsworth K. and Hazel (Holmes) Wire and was a 1959 graduate of Rome Free Academy.

Judy had many close friends that she made as a housekeepe­r for over 30 years. She was also an election inspector for the City of Sherrill for many years.

She was a member of the Marble Hill Inn “Lunch Club” where she enjoyed lunches with her friends and shared homemade desserts.

Her most important times were spent with her family and her grandchild­ren that she adored.

Surviving are her three children, son Michael Esch and companion Tammy Jeffris of Canastota, son Todd (Lisa) Esch of Sherrill, and daughter Dianna (Michael) Ross of Sherrill; her five beloved grandchild­ren, Amanda and her husband Brian Meyers, Michael Ross, Trevor and Daniel Esch, and Zachary Funari; one sister, JoAnn Carol Fusco of Rome; one brother, Richard Wire of Utica; two special cousins, Stewart and Dayton Holmes of Pennsylvan­ia, and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be a private gathering at the family’s convenienc­e to celebrate her life. Arrangemen­ts are with the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., Sherrill, N.Y. Online condolence­s may be sent to maleckifun­eralhome.com
