Amelia Millimaci, 90, of East Syracuse

EAST SYRACUSE >> Amelia M. Cesario Millimaci, 90, formerly of Canastota, passed away Friday evening, March 24, 2017, in the Sunnyside Care Center, where she had been a resident and received excellent care for the past eight years.

Born in Canastota on April 7, 1926, she was a daughter of Joseph and Mary Muscacchio Cesario. A lifelong resident of the area, Amelia was educated in Canastota schools.

Prior to her retirement, Amelia had been employed by General Electric for almost 20 years and had formerly been employed with the Camillus Knife Factory. She was of the Catholic faith.

Amelia enjoyed collecting antiques, especially cookie jars. She loved the outdoors and sharing it with her family, often taking her children fishing in the Chittenang­o Creek.

Surviving are: one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Rory Piermattei of Hershey, Pa.; two sons and one daughter-inlaw, Carmen J. and Elizabeth Cesario of York, Pa. and Mario “Joe” Millimaci of Syracuse; five grandchild­ren; three sisters and two brothers-inlaw, Betsy Tucci of East Syracuse, Donna and Carl Musak and Virginia and Clyde Poppel, all of Canastota; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Charles Cesario, Joseph and Patricia Cesario, Anthony Cesario and Jerry Cesario, all of Canastota, and several nieces and nephews.
